videah is a video editor that works entirely on your iPhone. It collects no data and has no accounts.
What it uses and why
- Photos and videos you choose: from Apple's picker videah only receives the ones you pick, and keeps a copy in its projects, on the phone. It doesn't read the rest of your library.
- Photo library (add only): to save the videos you export and their covers. videah doesn't read your other photos.
- Music: the songs you choose from Files, copied into the project, on the phone.
- Microphone: only in Comment, while you record your voice.
- Camera: only in Comment, and only if you turn it on, to show you in a bubble.
- Motion sensors: in Comment, to keep the camera image upright.
- Subtitles: your voice is transcribed on the phone and never sent. If a language needs a model, iOS downloads it, not videah.
- "Open in videah": it only receives the files you share with videah from the Share menu.
- Purchases (videah Pro): handled by Apple through the App Store; videah only receives the purchase confirmation, with no name, email or payment details.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't collect, send or sell personal data.
- It uses no accounts, ads, third-party tracking or analytics.
- It has no servers: projects, videos, voice, transcripts and settings stay on your device.
Test versions (TestFlight)
Test versions collect no data either. Crashes and feedback you send from TestFlight are collected by Apple, according to your device settings.
